Tango as a dance took root at the end of the 19th century on the banks of the Rio de la Plata, mostly in big cities like Buenos Aires and Montevideo. It was a time of large migrations to South America - mostly Europeans (Italians, Spaniards, Poles).

Their music arrived with them: the sweet sounds of the violin, the guitar in the flamenco rhythm, the sad sound of the bandoneon. In addition to music, they also brought with them their dances: waltz, mazurka and polka, which they mixed with Cuban habanera and African candombe rhythms.
From that musical mix tango was born.

As a passionate and sensual dance, tango is known for its emotional depth, expressiveness and complex steps, but the most important characteristics of tango can be summed up in two words: embrace and improvisation.

The tango embrace is the main reason why most dancers spend their whole lives dancing this wonderful and mystical dance. When a couple embraces and connects, magic happens.

At that moment, everything else seemes to fall silent. Only rich and dynamic tango music can be heard in the background, which arouses inspiration, while in tandem with dance without strict dance steps, it encourages improvisation, interpretation of feelings and dancing with the heart.
